Who is Dee or Divz? I am still learning about myself and do not quite have a complete answer to that question but I can try giving you a glimpse of me.

I have spent my life roaming between England, Saudi Arabia, India and New Zealand. Initially my parents moved because of work and later I went to NZ and fell head over heels in love with the beautiful country. Having said that India and New Zealand are both close to my heart. While India taught me to value people, patience and the virtues of accepting things beyond my control, New Zealand gave me the most beautiful culturally vibrant family and helped develop a tolerance towards the new and different.

I have often heard that there is a family one is born into and then there is a family one picks in the form of friends. God blessed with me loving parents and an amazing brother. When it came to choosing a family I made some fantastic choices. Each time I flip through the photo album or reminisce about the time gone by there is an ear to ear grin. From water cooler crushes in school, splitting tinned fruits with friends because of bad budgeting, M&Ms movie nights, a crazy tumble in the paddy fields to celebrating my graduation, first job or something as simple as scoring a try at the UNITEC fields. Yes gentlemen, I know you would let me score once in a while to give me that very precious moment of pure joy. Thank you!

From my nomadic lifestyle I learnt not to be too quick to judge, to apologise with all my heart when I am in the wrong and to sometimes just slowdown in life and appreciate my journey. I learnt to listen to different perspectives without any pre-conceived notions. Churches, Temples, Monasteries or Gurdwaras – they all are my sanctuaries when I need that monkey in my head to stop peddling and relax for a bit. All of this happened because I was blessed to be surrounded by people who accepted me just the way I am. The goofy, tom boyish, jumping jack, laughing & giggling woman who goes clubbing in track pants was just fine with them.

So who am I? An Indian, Kiwi, Samoan, Fijian, Tahitian, Australian, German, English all rolled in one. Professionally I work in the fast paced IT industry. Learning, growing and pushing myself every day. I particularly get a sense of satisfaction and joy when I see people who crossed paths with me excel. Outside work I am an avid reader with dreams of trotting across the globe to learn and grow, meet new people and enjoy all that our beautiful planet has to offer.

I am neither a management guru nor an accomplished researcher in any field. I read for the joy of learning, travel to discover and write to share my two cents. Do share your stories, your feedback or simply drop by to say hello.
